Scrapbook Prompt Series [Page 2] being Asian American, therapy discourse, and disability
Are you ready to smash that writer's block with me?
Hi, I’m Lucy Dan and I’m going to preface this scrapbook prompt page with the assurance that the change in style does not mean that the scrapbook page prompts will come every day, but that in absolute passion I was very eggcited to release another page in near time. (I’m just off for a super long weekend and have amassed a lot more fun scrapbookable things).
If “near time” is even a phrase.
Maybe that’s a first prompt in itself?
Being Asian American comes with so much grief, but let's not forget the joy. I have been shaped by weekend dim sum, karaoke, spying on aunties playing mahjong, making lumpia, swallowing long noodles for long life, balikbayan boxes, a thriving community filled with pride and love.
therapy discourse on Twitter are so exhausting
here is my hot take:
therapy works for some people
therapy should be more accessible to people who want it
some people have been harmed by therapists, therapeutic methods, misdiagnosis, and more
healing exists outside of therapy
Nondisableds frequently hold the belief that disabled people who are eligible for disability benefits live a lavish and luxurious life, without recognizing that such benefits often result in sustained poverty for disabled people.
Evidently I’d been on Twitter a lot.
